Building a More Compassionate World
Self-compassion shouldn’t be a luxury ~ it’s a practice that everyone deserves access to, no matter their financial circumstances. That’s why I offer many free resources, as well as scholarships to those who need and want the tools available in my programs. My mission is to create opportunities for everyone to nurture their creativity, resilience, and self-compassion.
Why Scholarships Matter to Me
My commitment to offering scholarships is deeply personal. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the generosity of others.
I attended Vassar College, which has a “need-blind” admissions policy. This means that students are accepted based on their qualifications ~ not their financial circumstances. As the only child of a single parent (my mom was a public school art teacher), I received a significant scholarship that made attending Vassar possible. The school covered 75% of my tuition, while my mom and I worked together to cover the rest.
That experience showed me how transformative it can be to have access to opportunities you might not otherwise afford. It’s a big part of why I believe so strongly in offering scholarships today.
In my programs, I’ve seen how having access to tools like creative self-compassion can change lives. Scholarships allow me to share these tools with a diverse range of students who might not otherwise be able to participate.
When you contribute to the scholarship fund, you’re helping someone who might not have had this opportunity discover tools that support their growth, healing, and joy. Thank you for helping make this possible.
How Scholarships Work
Scholarships cover partial or full tuition for my programs, depending on the recipient’s circumstances. They also include art supplies when needed, ensuring that every student can fully participate in the creative practices we explore together.Â
How You Can Help
If you’d like to support future scholarship students, you can make a contribution today. Your gift helps ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of someone’s self-compassion journey. While contributions are not tax-deductible, they make a meaningful impact.
